I'm absolutely hooked on sculptris...
i know it lacks the level of control offered by zbrush or mudbox but thats probably what i like most about it...its "simplicity". I recently imported an obj from sculptris in to zbrush to see if it would accurately project the detail from my model thats in triangles to the new topology created in zbrush (quads)...and it worked like a charm......Whooooohoo
think this will b my workflow...zshpere's are great and quick but sculptris instant subdivision workflow is waaaaay more intuitive...im addicted
jus a lil update on me...

Texturing N More
So i've still have some playin round to do in the uv mapping area, but confident enough to move on and plan out how i will texture...With intentions of utilizing Zbrush to texture...i ventured outward to see what other solutions there are, and to my surprise Bodypaint is still very popular for this...after watching a few videos its apparent that its photoshop likeness makes it feel very natural and easy to learn. i also played around with 3Dcoats texturing capabilities and it has a rather impressive texturing tools. Lastly i revisited the 3ds max's viewport canvas and its capabilities and though nice dont stack up with the other 3 pgms....thi
UV Mapping
I have to say in this deep exploration in 3d; forums have been a great source of information. The forums have mainly aided in keeping me up to date in what software is being used, and specified Internet searches fills in the gaps from there....however the forums have failed me in the topic of uv mapping...
I already have an idea of how i wanna uv map...cough (zbrush)...but I wanted to do my research and see if there are any superior alternatives or notable suggestions....all i could get is post from like 2004...oh well
but from the looks of it 3dcoat has a pretty good uv mapping setup which is good cus ive chosen it for my retopo process...
hooray for membership
ahhhhh, feels good to have a premium membership again, couldn't pass up on that sale.....so now my ever-expanding list of hot resources is back @ the bottom of my journals along wit this stylish journal skin..(p.s what happened to all the great journal skins....jeeesh) but glad i found this one thank you drake for sharing it.
3D,3D,3D
Ive been learning the basics to Mudbox 2010 for about a week now....the more i try to find sum actual use for this pgm it always comes up short....however i believe it may have zbrush beat with its simple yet powerful layers feature....not sure yet zbrush does have its projection master and light box so only time will tell. Ultimately i don't think ill be using it but i had to dive in and see for my self....next i think ill play with topogun and see if it has any advantages over the amazing 3dcoat's topology tools....
jus lil update on my training in the new world of 3d...
later peeps
